12: The Best Training Plans Change

We all know that routine is good for our pets, but what if I told you that changing their training plan is good too?

That’s right, I believe that the best training plans change.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want you to start changing up your training plan for no reason, but I do want you to be able to adapt as you learn more about your pet and how they respond to different situations.

I’m giving you some examples from working with my own pets to illustrate this concept because I have had experiences with them that have shaped how I moved forward with their training.

What We Cover in Today’s Episode

  • The importance of considering your lifestyle when creating a training plan

  • How different lifestyles affect training plans

  • Why it is good to adjust a plan

  • Things to remember when you are starting training

  • Knowing your pet’s personality and making accommodations for them

  • Learning from previous training experiences

  • Setting yourself up for success

  • Communicating with anyone else involved in your plan

Hopefully, by the end of this episode, you understand what I mean when I say “the best training plans change,” and maybe you’ll even take a look at how your own plan could change.

Observe your pets, and they will tell you what they need to learn!
