Do you know the three key components of a successful behavior plan?

We talk a lot about training, but that’s not the only thing that goes into changing your pet’s behavior.

As I’ve worked with clients, I’ve developed a key process to breaking down behavior plans that I have found to be super successful. Training is a part of the process, but there are two other steps that are just as important.

In this episode, I’m sharing the three components of a successful behavior plan and explaining the role of each one. If you incorporate all three of these things, training will be easier and faster than if you rely on one alone.

What We Cover in Today’s Episode

  • The steps that go into creating a behavior plan

  • Preventing unwanted behavior

  • Reducing stressors in the environment

  • The importance of using all three steps of the behavior plan

  • Being prepared to handle unwanted behavior

  • Interrupting behavior in a way that doesn’t reinforce it or increase stress

  • The role of training in a behavior plan

  • The definition of training

If you’ve only been using one of the components from this episode, it’s not too late to start working on the rest! I hope this helps you to have a better experience as you work with your pet.
